The maintenance of long-living software systems is an essential topic in today’s software engineering practice and research. Software Architecture Restructuring is an important task to adjust these systems to current requirements and to keep them maintainable. Niels Streekmann introduces an approach to Software Architecture Restructuring that semi-automates this task by introducing graph clustering. The approach provides an iterative process that systematically incorporates human architectural knowledge for the improvement of the restructuring result. Thus, it supports the task of planning the transfer of an existing system to a target architecture and aims at reducing the required manual effort.

This book constitutes the refereed proceedings of the 10th International Conference on Software Business, ICSOB 2019, held in Jyväskylä, Finland, in November 2019. On the occasion of its tenth anniversary the conference theme this year was “The First Decade and Beyond” and focused on the development during the past decade, addressing the future of software-intensive business as well as studies on new and emerging ideas. The 18 full papers and 10 short papers presented together with 3 invited talks, 6 emerging research papers and a tutorial were carefully reviewed and selected from 52 submissions. Component-based software development is the next step after object-oriented programmingthatpromisesto reducecomplexityandimprovereusability.These advantages have also been identi?ed by the industry, and consequently, over the past years, a large number of component-based techniques and processes have been adopted in many of these organizations. A visible result of this is the number ofcomponentmodels thathavebeendevelopedandstandardized.These models de?ne how individual software components interact with each other and simplify the design process of software systems by allowing developers to choose from previously existing components. The development of component models is a ?rst step in the right direction, but there are many challenges that cannot be solved by the development of a new component model alone. Such challengesare the adaptation of components, and their development and veri?cation. Software Composition is the premiere workshop to advance the research in component-based software engineering and its related ?elds. SC 2005 was the fourth workshop in this series. As in previous years, SC 2005 was organized as an event co-located with the ETAPS conference. This year’s program consisted of a keynote on the revival of dynamic l- guages given by Prof. Oscar Nierstrasz and 13 technical paper presentations (9 full and 4 short papers). The technical papers were carefully selected from a total of 41 submitted papers. Each paper was thoroughly peer reviewed by at leastthreemembers oftheprogramcommittee andconsensusonacceptancewas achieved by means of an electronic PC discussion. This LNCS volume contains the revised versions of the papers presented at SC 2005.

This book constitutes the thoroughly refereed post-conference proceedings of the 13th International Joint Conference on Software Technologies, ICSOFT 2018, held in Porto, Portugal, in July 2018. The 18 revised full papers were carefully reviewed and selected from 117 submissions. The topics covered in the papers include: business process modelling, IT service management, interoperability and service-oriented architecture, project management software, scheduling and estimating, software metrics, requirements elicitation and specification, software and systems integration, etc.

This book is intended for the student of computing and the practising computer professional who is concerned about the unreliability of computer systems. It is the author's aim to bring an understanding of the concept of software reliability and to impart some ideas, which should lead to the development of more reliable soft­ ware systems. The book tries to bridge the gap between theory and practice and will thus be valuable supplemental reading for a course on software engineering. During my work on real-time systems in industry I have seen many occasions where the subjects of testing, error detection and error handling have been tackled in an unsystematic, ad hoc fashion which leads to subsequent problems in the integration phase. The chapters on these subjects formed the starting point of this book and other chapters were developed in order to produce a clear and concise text covering the whole subject of software reliability, while always keeping the practical aspect in mind. This English edition is a revised version of the original German edition. The author would like to thank all his friends and colleagues for their help, suggestions and remarks on the German text. Many of the comments which have been raised have been considered in this revised English version.
